Invention: A method of preparing hyperbranched polymers in large quantities from commercial monomers and a technique for controlling the degree of polymer branching were reported together with doctoral students, which solved the problem of resistance to hydrogen peroxide in non-fluoropolymer proton exchange membranes. A non-toxic and inexpensive ligand was found for atom transfer living free radical polymerization.
